Bastille and Bonfire Night

This weekend was super busy! (hence lack of blogging)

On Saturday I went to see the fireworks at Rudyard Lake, which is near to where I live. To be honest, the whole evening was a little weird. There was no bonfire, and they had advertised there being "live entertainment" which turned out to be the most embarrassing karaoke I have ever heard. It was also FREEZING cold and the fireworks were delayed.

HOWEVER the fireworks were some of the best I have ever seen!!!! The music was really good alongside them and the bangs were ridiculously loud! We had also got there quite early and so we had such a good spot to watch the display over the lake, which really was as amazing as they said it would be! They had decorated the woods leading to the display, and the whole evening was really lovely.

When we got home (and had thawed a little bit) we lit sparklers in the back garden before going in and watching a bit of telly. Maybe the most autumny evening ever!

On Sunday evening me and the boyfriend went to see Bastille at Manchester Arena - Bastille are one of my fave ever bands and the last time I had seen them live was at Reading festival last year where I saw nothing but the tops of everyone else's heads (damn being short) and before that I saw them in the actual Bastille, Paris when I lived there.

So this was my first time seeing them properly in the UK and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!
The visuals were amazing (see below) and they played all my favourite songs off the new album (which I have been listening to on repeat in my car) and some of the great ones off the old album. Dan also came through the crowd at one point, and as we were so close to the front, he was only about 3 people in front of me!

For such a massive venue, they managed to make it feel quite intimate and personal. Everyone there knew all the words to songs, and that made it even more special. Such a good night!

Hope you all had a good weekend!
