CLAUDIA LOVES CATS

So on Boxing Day, the Body Shop had a 40% off EVERYTHING deal, which as a massive fan of their products I couldn't help but get involved! I wanted to try some new things of theirs without a massive price tag. Below is what I bought:

Face
Tea Tree Night Lotion - I wanted to try a night moisturiser but I have SUCH oily skin that I was worried it would encourage me to have breakouts. I am really keen to try this to see whether it helps keep my skin a bit more regulated in moisture but without the spots! I will use it alongside my other tea-tree items from this Body Shop range, but I have tested it on my hand and the tea tree seems to be quite strong in it,whichis perfect for me and my acne. You can find the link for this here

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wipes - I have been eyeing these up for ages thinking they would be amazing for travelling so I don't have to take my complete make up removing kit with me. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm hoping they will be good at make up removal as well as good at spreading tea tree onto my face! They are quite pricey (for face wipes!), at £5 for the pack, so I don't think I will be using them regularly but they seem perfect for travel. You can find the link for this here

Body
Honeymania™ Bubble Bath Melt - I have been looking for a bubble bath to use alongside my Lush bath bombs, and this one was in the sale for just £4!! Couldn't resist, and I am hoping the smell of the honey won't overwhelm my Lush products. You can find this here

Raspberry Shower Gel - This is a replacement for the Spiced Apple shower gel I have been using recently (which smells super Christmassy) and I wanted something that smelt springy and uplifting, raspberry is a sweet and fruity smell so I thought I would give it a go! You can find this here

Hair
Detangling Comb - I have had a Body Shop comb for as long as I can remember, and I really liked the ethics that come with this little wooden one, with the wood coming from managed forests. Having a wide tooth comb also helps with getting knots out of your hair when it is wet, and as I am trying to grow my hair I need to be as careful as possible! You can find this here

Rainforest Balance Conditioner - I already have the shampoo for this, and I have been looking into trying the conditioner for ages as I don't use conditioner enough - it is one of my new years resolutions to condition nearly every day and so what better time to start than with this. You can find this here

Lips
Matte Lip Liquid in Crete Carnation 030 - I bought a matte lip liquid from NYX when I was in Lincoln and really wanted another one! The colours I chose are almost the same, but this one is a little orangey and I wore it today and I LOVE IT! Really nice and doesn't go flaky at all, also works well with my lip balm (Burt's Bees). You can find it here

The unboxing! With some help from Peggy..
See you next year, have a good one tonight, Claudia x

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! I have a lot of blog posts lined up to do, as I have been super busy in this post-Christmas pre-New Year lull!! For Christmas day we had a really nice day at home with my mum and sister, Jonny and my grandparents. We played games and ate lots of food, it was perfect! I hit up some of the sales on Boxing day (which I will blog about!) but only virtually. Last night at about midnight we got back from Hampshire (seeing Jonny's parents) so I am also hopefully going to get a blog post about that together.

Can't believe it is New Year tomorrow, tonight we are going to a rock night in Leek at the Foxlowe Arts Centre, I have no idea what it is going to be like, but one of our "couple resolutions" is to get out in Leek more rather than relying on Buxton (where we used to live) so here goes the first night!
See you next year!

So yesterday we had a mega lie in and then had panettone for breakfast. After a quick shower, we headed out to test Jonny's new drone (that I bought him)..

No footage of the drone can be released at the moment (Jonny's orders until he had practised) it was a lovely clear day though although a bit windy.

Here are some photos:

Today we headed over to Ashbourne which isn't that far away and it was CHRISTMASSY FRONT DOOR HEAVEN!! Loads of people had wreaths on their doors and it was a lovely cold day.

It went dark so so early though! I had forgotten it was the shortest day (or the longest night) and by 4 o'clock it had gone dark! I can't believe that this is Christmas week!! I don't feel quite at my peak festive-ness yet but I can't wait to give people their presents now I feel like I've been planning them for so long.

Ashbourne is a really lovely place, we went to a café for lunch, and it wasn't great, but we normally go to the deli on the Market Place. We had a nosey round all the boutique shops and I bought some nice Christmassy decorations (which I think I will save for next year now!)
Have you all finished all your Christmas shopping?

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, I went out on Friday and Saturday for Christmassy dos which were both super fun. Yesterday we needed a relax so before we went to a carol concert in the evening, we made these homemade pomanders which are super easy to do and smell AMAZING!!

They are really easy all you need to do is:
- get an orange you would like to decorate
- buy some toothpicks and cloves to poke in
- using the toothpick, make a hole in the orange them poke your clove in
- we decorated ours with ribbons but you can do anything you want and any pattern you want with the cloves!

Literally is that simple and they smell amazing!

Of course I was helped by my little elf.....

On Sunday we all went to Lincoln to see my sister at University, and went for tea at Wildwood Lincoln. I had high expectations because I had been to the one in Canterbury for my graduation meal and it was lovely. This one was even better! It is fairly new and has a super nice atmosphere - it's not dark or too crowded or too loud even though there were some Christmas work dos in there!

We all shared starters (pictures below) and had the Brie starter, the mixed meat platter and my sister had the cheesy garlic bread with rosemary and caramelised onion. For my main I had the Wild Boar and Chorizo burger. It was YUMMY!! So lovely and not too much at all (hate wasting food). Would really recommend going!!

There is also a cinema upstairs with a popcorn maker - which you can hire out and go and see films there, if I lived in Lincoln I would definitely be heading there to see a Christmas film this month.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Just a quick one today about the importance of shopping locally!
I found these Christmas cards at Leek market and they are absolutely gorgeous, you can find them at Tweed Hands (www.tweedhands.co.uk ), hand drawn in Derbyshire and you can also commission your own picture.

Make sure you do shop locally this Christmas, it helps people to live out their passions and also you can get a much more personal present and shopping experience

Yesterday we went to Little Moreton Hall, a lovely National Trust property near Congleton. It has always been one of my absolute favourites, built in the 16th century and this weekend they have some Tudor Christmas events going on. They had lovely music, and free (yes free) brandy hot drinks and gingerbread biscuits on entrance.

We had a really nice day, despite the weather being rubbish. The only negative was that in the very beautiful long gallery (picture below) a little bird was stuck! I was quite worried about him so hopefully he managed to get out again (or was just taking advantage of the warmth inside!).

my dress is from Sister Jane, if anyone is wondering while looking at this!

We have put up our Christmas tree! So finally all the Scandi decorations are out and we can start getting some presents under the tree!

Had a lovely day today, been to Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire (blog post coming soon) and tomorrow we are going to see my sister in Lincoln. It's also two years today that I have been going out with my boyfriend. Very festive weekend!

Hope you are all having a good weekend,
Claudia

Theres nothing I love more than a lovely cup of hot chocolate on the run up to Christmas.
I am currently reading Home for Christmas by Annie Groves, which my mum bought for me for Advent (because I love Christmas reading so much) I think sometimes books are more festive than films, because your imagination does loads of the work and you can also read just a little every night before you go to sleep and don't need to commit to the whole thing.

I have been reading about a chapter a night of this, which is about women at Christmas in the Second World War.

Hope everyone is having a lovely advent, I am snowed under with work for university at the moment and so hot chocolate is about as extravagant as my nights get!

This little cutie LOVES wearing her Christmas jumper - she also loves snuggling up on my bed a bit too much (all about the cotton sheets for Coco!). This morning I caught her on my PILLOW WITH ME.. thank goodness she is tiny.

Right now, we have the Christmas music on and she is snoring away.

This Christmas jumper came from Pets at Home and is a M and a perfect size for our little Frenchie.

Hope you're all having a good advent!
